£25 Million Salix Fund announced

A £25 million funding programme for maintained schools has been announced.  This interest free funding is available for maintained schools over the next 2 years.

In 2018 Salix and the Department for Education launched a pilot scheme for maintained schools looking to install energy efficiency measures over the summer (2018). This pilot was the first step towards delivering £25 million of funding over a 2 year period, to help schools lower energy bills, save carbon and create a more comfortable teaching environment. Following the success of the pilot scheme over summer, Salix are now funding further projects with applications now being accepted.  Salix are encouraging schools looking to have their project installed over the summer holidays to confirm their application by early June so that their application can be processed in good time.

Maintained schools are welcome to apply online for Salix interest-free funding. FSH Group are able to help in identifying whether your school is eligible to apply for a loan to upgrade to LED lighting by carrying out a free lighting survey.  To see if your school is eligible for it's share of the £25 million funding pot and to book a free lighting survey with one of our experts please contact us today on 01977 669636.

This programme is designed to help schools reduce their energy spend to the lowest possible level. During the past year, FSH Group has worked with many schools to help them save on their energy bills, reduce their carbon footprint and enjoy the benefits of LED lighting. Andy Sharp, Facilities Manager at the school had this to say about the project:
Our experience of working with FSH has proved to be very successful. From the initial contact, through the invaluable assistance when completing our application and works program.  The project was managed with  professionalism and efficiency. Great thought and care was given to working in a school environment with all possible effort made to minimise disruption.  The impact of the new lights cannot be underestimated and has transformed the school.  We have no reservations in recommending FSH and are in discussions regarding future work in school.

Over the past year Salix has worked with 500 schools and is expecting to work with a projected 1,000 schools across the country.
