When the chips are down, turn to FSH!
The owner of The Sea Chef, a busy fish and chip bar in Newcastle, was devastated when his shop was gutted by fire. The entire internal structure was destroyed, putting the business was at serious risk because of the scale of the works needed to reinstate it.
Following the owner’s insurance claim, one of our survey management clients asked FSH to handle this urgent project. Business owner Mr John Dobson was desperate for a high quality refurbishment that met his deadline.
Ahead of the game
Our teams stripped out the building leaving just a shell and first-floor timbers. We then completely refurbished the premises, a project which included plumbing and electrical works, joinery, plastering and tiling as well as refitting the preparation and cooking areas and the shop itself. We communicated with Mr Dobson and with our client throughout the project to ensure a smooth and problem-free project. Our client was very happy that we met or exceeded every outcome, and the brand new Sea Chef bar was delivered ahead of schedule.
Back in business
We understand very well that our work often connects us with major upheavals in people’s lives, so handing over great results at the conclusion of our projects is always a high point. This was no exception. Mr Dobson was delighted at the speed, efficiency and pristine finish of his reinstated shop. He commented,
“I was devastated when the fire broke out but if I had to use one word to describe FSH it would be ‘EXCELLENT’! They were on-site immediately and had the whole place gutted and stripped out within a week. During the works Joanne in the office was really helpful and answered all my questions. Pat on site and Andrew who managed the works did a great job and kept me informed about what was happening, when and where. They all did a fantastic job, so a big ‘Thank you’ to everybody involved!”
